The Emotional Mood of Color:
A Watercolor and Acrylic Workshop
SKIP LAWRENCE, nationally acclaimed juror, instructor, and author.
Monday, January 11 through Friday, January 15
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Skip Lawrence is a very popular workshop instructor throughout the country. His method is to help participants to 'Use their personal color" to emphasize composition and emotion.
Skip's book, Painting Light & Shadow in Watercolor, shows how to adjust and exaggerate colors and temperatures for impact, and design a dramatic composition around big shapes of light and color. His more current articles appear in Palette Magazine (available through Cheap Joe's Art Supply). He is editor with Christopher Schink of this educational art magazine - a must for painters and teachers. See his web site at www.skiplawrence.com.
This workshop is designed to help students uncover their personal style of painting consistent with personal intent. Most often, the day will begin with a demonstration, lecture, or slide program followed by work time which includes individual instruction, and concluding with a group critique. This sequence may be rearranged in order to suit the needs of the group.
